PO-02-094 ALL PULMONARY VEIN ISOLATION STRATEGIES ARE EQUALLY EFFECTIVE IN REDUCING THE RECURRENCE OF ATRIAL ARRHYTHMIAS

چکیده

Ostial and antral pulmonary vein isolation techniques have different properties. In addition, there are differences between radiofrequency cryoballoon ablation based on tissue contact characteristics. Finally, posterior wall (PWI) has been proposed as an adjuvant to PVI because of embryological origin similarities. We examine the results ostial RF ablation, PWI adjunction in DECAAF-II trial with regard recurrence atrial arrhythmias after ablation. Patients persistent AF from who underwent only or + were included. All patients LGE-MRI before 3 months The electroanatomic maps at time procedure displaying location lesions merged baseline images, two reviewers analyzed classified resulting reconstructions. if immediate proximity veins’ ostium included a portion antrum around veins. extracted separate group. followed up for total 18 using daily single-lead smartphone ECG strips. primary outcome this analysis was 90-day blanking period. A 367 considered analysis. 211 PVI, 81 31 had PWI, 44 cryoablation. Baseline characteristics comparable terms age, sex, fibrosis percentage, comorbidity profile (hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, CAD, history stroke), medication history, except significant difference heart failure (10.4% vs. 18.5% 29% 27.3%, p = 0.004) prior AAD use (46.9% 44.4% 64.5% 29.5%, 0.026). Recurrence rates among four groups: 91 (43%) group, 39 (48%) 12 (39%) 22 (50%) cryoablation group (log rank P=0.76). AF, all show equal efficacy arrhythmia recurrence. Isolation during no procedural advantage.

Atrial ectopy predicts late recurrence of atrial fibrillation after pulmonary vein isolation.

BACKGROUND Late recurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF) after radiofrequency ablation remains significant. Asymptomatic recurrence poses a difficult clinical problem as it is associated with an equally increased risk of stroke and death compared with symptomatic AF events. Meta-analyses reveal that no single preablation patient characteristic efficiently predicts these AF recurrences. This study...

Left atrial-pulmonary vein reentrant tachycardia following pulmonary vein isolation.

Pulmonary vein isolation has become the cornerstone of ablation for atrial fibrillation. However, it is sometimes followed by the development of left atrial macro-reentrant tachycardia. There is evidence to suggest that the myocardial sleeves within the pulmonary veins may be implicated in the mechanism of the tachycardia. Here we present a case of a post-ablation macro-reentrant tachycardia, i...

Pulmonary vein isolation without left atrial mapping

BACKGROUND One of the crucial points during in most approaches developed for ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) is the ability to identify the pulmonary vein (PVs) and to accurately locate their ostia. OBJECTIVES The purpose of this case series was to investigate a simplified method for fusion of the multislice computer tomography (CT) derived 3D dataset with the electroanatomical map in or...

Pulmonary vein isolation for atrial fibrillation.

Nonpharmacological treatment for atrial fibrillation (AF) has evolved dramatically over the past 20 years. Pulmonary vein isolation, a catheter ablation technique developed in the last decade, prevents focal triggers in the pulmonary veins from initiating episodes of AF. Although the procedure initially involved focal ablation with a catheter directly in the pulmonary veins, investigators subse...

Effect of valsartan on atrial fibrillation recurrence following pulmonary vein isolation in patients

Pulmonary venous isolation has emerged as an effective therapy for atrial fibrillation (AF); however, AF recurrence is common. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) on the recurrence rate of AF following ablation therapy. In total, 120 patients, who were scheduled for ablation, were randomly selected. The patients were randomly divide...
